What is a nanny?
A nanny is a child carer who works alongside the parents or guardians. They are fully involved in the physical, mental, social development and well-being of the child in their care. They become very much a part of the family as they are present in the day-to-day aspects of a family's routine. It is important for the nanny to have a close and trusting relationship with the child/ren, and that it is established through patience and consistency.
Nannies can be employed under a variety of circumstances. Below are the nanny services we can help provide to you. If you have any special requests, or are uncertain which one suits you best, please don't hesitate to call us; we would be happy to accommodate your needs.
Full-time nannies are professional educators who, alongside parents, offer an environment conducive to the growth and learning of their
children in their care. Regularly, full-time nannies work between 35 to 48 hours per week and can live-in or out, depending on the needs of the family.
They are generally responsible for all things related to the child, including their welfare (cooking nutritious meals, bathing, dressing, tidying their rooms). They also provide educational and age-appropriate activities to stimulate the child in learning English and general development. Of course, the tasks may vary depending on the needs and number of children in the household.
Part-time nannies are a great addition to your family when your children are attending school full-time, and you need an extra pair of hands. Generally, they work less than 35hrs per week depending on what your family is looking for. Their responsibilities typically include picking up the children from school, taking children to and from extra-curricular activities, assisting with homework, bathing and feeding – the list can go on.
Parents in France are rapidly seeing the benefits of having this type of nanny as they can introduce English into a child’s life in a natural, non-threatening environment.
Holiday Nannies are hired on a short-term placement, typically between 1 week to 6 months.
They provide you with an extra pair of hands while you enjoy your vacations away from home, or if you need temporary help in the course of your full-time nanny’s paid time off.
This is a great way to continue your child’s progression in English through fun activities, even while they are on vacation.
Nowadays, in France, the demand for people to be able to speak a second language is almost an expectation in most industries. Giving your children the opportunity to learn English at a young age, will give them a head start in their learning. We seek to provide families with native or fluent English-speakers to create an educational program based on your child’s needs and interests.
